A meaningful day at school
My school life is marvellous. I enjoy my time with my schoolmates and teachers. At school, we do not
simply gain knowledge but also share happiness with one another. The most unforgettable day happened
last month when I was in the Information Technology lesson.
In the lesson, we made VR headsets by ourselves. It was so fantastic. We prepared cardboard and plastic
lens. We followed Mr Kuet’s instructions step by step. Although making VR headsets was not difficult, we
had to do it carefully. For the last step, we put the mobile phones in front of the headsets. Then we could see
a virtual or imaginary environment. It was amazing!
I felt amazed and excited because this was my first VR headset. My classmates were also happy and
surprised. We helped one another and made many memories. We had a great time and gained valuable
experience of learning advanced technology. It was fun and educational. How meaningful it was!
I love my school life. I find it meaningful and fruitful. My school life is brilliant, isn’t it?

A special day at school
Today was the day for the English quiz. When I arrived at school, my classmate asked me, ‘Emily,
do you feel confident for today’s quiz?’ I was puzzled, ‘What? Quiz?’ ‘I haven’t done any revision yet. I
shouldn’t have played computer games last night,’ I regretted.
During the morning reading session, I started doing my revision but it was really difficult. There were
butterflies in my stomach. Just then, a teacher walked into our classroom. ‘I’m your substitute teacher, Miss
Li. Your English teacher is on sick leave today and the quiz will be rearranged to next week. You will have a
pre-quiz right now,’ she said.
After a while, we all finished our paper. Miss Li marked our work instantly and I got an unexpected
result - only 47 marks! I was worried, ‘How would I tell Mum and Dad?’
Back home, Dad was disappointed when he saw my result but he didn’t blame me at all. He encouraged
me to be more hard-working. I promised him, ‘Dad, I will never do that again. I have learnt a lesson!’
In order to get higher marks, I need to have good preparation beforehand. The ‘47 marks’ is a warning
to push me up. I’m going to stay at home and prepare well for every test. Remember - No pain, no gain and
don’t study at the eleventh hour!
