Dear Dormice,
In the book ‘The Tower to the Sun’ by Colin Thompson, the richest man in
the world said “I’d give anything in the world to see the sun again.” He was so
determined to make this dream happen that he removed the most beautiful
buildings mankind had ever made to build a tower to the sun. This man’s
words and actions were so powerful but his wealth was nothing compared to
the wealth you have now. The wealth of knowledge and nature.
The richest man in the world could not enjoy the Earth because no one had
thought about the damage they were doing in the present. I know that this
version of the future will never become true because you have taught myself
and others to care for animals, to not damage the environment and to not be
wasteful!
You may be leaving Victoria and partaking on a
new journey in P1 but your enthusiasm, ideals and
principles will live on in my memories. Enjoy the
Earth and remember to look after it’s beautiful gifts.
