A Story–JRGPS in 2058
Sometimes your dream can show a harsh reality beyond your
imagination. I had a dream recently, which would more likely be a
nightmare in real life. In the dream, I did a project which involved time
travelling.
I was hyped when my crew and I finally built a time machine. We
were arguing about who should be the first time traveller among us. I
just sneaked into the time machine and was teleported to the year my
school would be a hundred years old. I was amazed at first but then I
realized I couldn’t go back. ‘Tell me the answer of my riddle and I shall help you
travel back to your time,’ said the artificial intelligence of the time machine. ‘What
comes once a minute, twice a moment but never in a thousand years?’ I was
confused.
I decided to explore the world. It was strange. There was an artificial moon,
artificial plants and artificial intelligence everywhere. After a while I found my
primary school. It was the exact same building, so it was impossible for me not
to recognize it. I got a tour of the school. There were no subjects. The reason
for its existence now was to teach students how to solve riddles.
‘I have a riddle!’ I shouted. I told them the riddle from the time machine.
They told me the answer within a second. It was the letter ‘m’! I left the school
and went back to the time machine. I travelled back to 2019. My teammates
were angry. I thought to myself, ‘Maybe the artificial intelligence of the time
machine knew I was going to go to the school. Maybe it already saw the future,
maybe it could see the decisions we make in the future.’
The thought of that startled me and I woke up. Like everyone, I’ll work hard
to make the future better.
