I have been practising gymnastics
since Primary 1. Among all the sports, I
am best at gymnastics. When practising
gymnastics, you need a lot of training
and patience. Training is never easy, but
if you are willing to commit, everything is
worth it.
At times, I was asked to practise
and perform some new but difficult
moves. Most of the time, I was afraid
and reluctant to start at the beginning.
After a lot of hard work and practices,
Girls C Grade I eventually managed the moves and
overcame my fear.
As part of the usual practice, I need
to stretch before my training. Stretching
is very painful but essential, but it does not mean I can ever get used to
it. Sometimes, I really wanted to cry out loud. Moreover, there are risks
associated with gymnastics. My ankle got hurt two years ago, and I am still
not fully recovered. However, my understanding and skills in gymnastics are
enhanced day-by-day.
When I stand on the stage to receive my gymnastics award after some
tough competitions, everything is worthwhile. Remember, “no pain no gain”
and “practice makes perfect”.
