he English Department aims to provide ample
Topportunities for students to master Reading,
Writing, Listening and Speaking. We encourage
students to read extensively by paying regular
visits to the library during school hours. Students
can also access e-books from Scholastic Learning
Zone and their skills are further enhanced by
e-Reading exercises.

In SLCSS, we provide a rich English environment
and students are able to develop their ability and
build confidence through interactive activities
such as English book sharing, English karaoke
competition, Shall We Talk Counter, English Forum,
Word Power Counter and Hall Oral Practice every

To broaden students’ perspectives and appreciate
diversity of different cultures, students are able
to explore English films and musicals outside of
school. Students can refine their speaking skills
through participating in RTHK Common Room
and HKVEP Workplace English Contest. In order
to expose students to an authentic English
environment, English Summer Study Tours to
Australia and New Zealand were arranged before
2019.

We are committed to creating a fruitful experience
for our students, allowing them to contribute to the
community, build strong connections, and acquire
indelible learning experiences.
