30 Primary Five and Six students visited the Hong Kong Monetary Authority on 18th January,
2017. Before the visit, many students looked forward to it and wondered what they would learn
there.
After the strict security check, an English guided tour was arranged for our students to the
exhibition area. The tour guide introduced the main policy objectives of Hong Kong Monetary
Authority and explained how it carried out its functions. Students were interested in many different
areas, especially when they were shown samples of coins and notes used over the years in and
around Hong Kong. Besides, students also learnt different methods in distinguishing counterfeit
banknotes. Many students were glad that they were chosen to visit the Hong Kong Monetary
Authority.
