1. Introduction to LEWI
Dr. Hao Pu
Research Assistant Professor, Mobility and Urbanisation Working Group of
LEWI
Dr. Hao obtained his B.Sc. from Wuhan University,
China, M.Sc. degrees from Wuhan University and the
International Institute for Geo-information Science
and Earth Observation and Ph.D. in Human
Geography and Urban Planning from Utrecht
University, Netherlands. His research interests include
urban socio-spatial dynamics, urban economic
geography, migration and mobility, and urban
housing. His multiple research projects are supported
by the RGC, the NSFC and the Lincoln Institute of
Land Policy. His publications appear in international peer-reviewed journals
including Urban Studies, Environment and Planning A, and the International Journal
of Urban and Regional Research.
Dr. George Kam-wah Mak
Research Assistant Professor, Cross-Cultural Studies Working Group of LEWI
Dr. Mak obtained his Ph.D. in Chinese Studies from the
University of Cambridge. His academic interests
include Bible Translation, History of Christianity in
China, History of Late Qing and Republican China,
Print Culture, Religious Publishing, and Sino-Foreign
Cultural Relations.
Dr. Mak is the author of 《大英聖書公會與官話〈和
合本〉聖經翻譯》(The British and Foreign Bible Society
and the Translation of the Mandarin Chinese Union Version) (Hong Kong: Christian
Study Centre on Chinese Religion and Culture, 2010) and Protestant Bible
Translation and Mandarin as the National Language of China (Volume 131 of
Sinica Leidensia) (Leiden; Boston: Brill, 2017). His recent journal publications
