School Counselling at KCCIS
th
It is my 13 year with KCCIS, helping students
to progress through adolescence into young
adulthood. Students have their diverse and often
changing needs that can broadly be divided into
three areas, namely, personal / social, academic
support and educational planning, which
could be interrelated. It is important to guide
students to develop positive attitudes and skills
to resolve issues in personal, academic and
social contexts, which are important in making
responsible choices for themselves in the future.
I also coordinate our PSHE program, which
is at the heart of our comprehensive school
counseling program. Career education is
delivered via PSHE for Year 7 to Year 11, and
we anticipate our IB students to make informed
decisions for their future based on knowledge
accumulated in previous years via PSHE and other enriching experiences.
KCCIS is a caring community where students of different backgrounds and abilities are valued
and respected. My simple wish is that students will grow up to be responsible individuals and
citizens who can contribute to this increasingly interconnected world in meaningful ways.
I hope that this has been a fulfilling year for you all too.
