No Pain No Gain
I did not know anything about gymnastics when I
first joined the school, and could not believe that
I have now become a gymnast. I first developed
my interest during my M.I. (Multiple Intelligences)
class at school in P.1, and then later started
learning the basics of gymnastics in an extra-
curricular training class. That was how my path of
becoming a gymnast all started.
In Competitive Gymnastics, there are four
common events, namely vaulting, floor exercise,
balance beam and uneven bars. Amongst these,
I am best at vaulting. I have had the chance of
participating in numerous competitions. I was
honoured to be awarded the First Runner-up in
Vaulting and in Women's Novice All-Around at
the 2018 Hong Kong Artistic Gymnastics Open
and Novice Championships cum International
Invitation Championships 2017 – 2018. I also
gained the “Champion in Team” and the Second
Place in "Individual All-Around" in the 2018 All
Hong Kong Inter-Primary School Gymnastics
Competition 2017-2018. Last year, I won the
Championship in Balance Beam, the Second
Place in “Women All-Around”, and the Third Place “I grew up gradually and

and obstacles.”
Injuries are not uncommon for athletes and I
am no exception. I hurt my ankle about two
years ago which seriously affected my routine
training progress and competition results. I
felt so sad and disappointed that I could not
join and compete in the "Hong Kong Artistic
Gymnastics Open & Novice Championships"
this year. Even for the competitions I joined
last year, I was performing with great pain and
suffering. However, I felt like I grew up gradually
and became stronger every time I encountered
difficulties and obstacles.
