                  Principal’s Words

(Glocal

Our school promotes Glocal Education which
is a hybrid of the rationale of global and local
education. On one hand, students can take
the advantages of the cultures from the east
and the west, and at the same time, they
can have a more in-depth understanding of
the Chinese culture. On the other hand, they
can foster international vision to connect the
world to become a global citizen. We are also
                                                st
committed to helping students become 21
          century learners, specialists and generalists
                                                st
to master the skills necessary for the 21
          century.

                                                                                        Principal Gyver LAU Kwok-leung

Refining Curriculum Framework
Strengthening the Basic Knowledge and Skills
Our school is promoting STEM education enthusiastically to enable students to integrate
初中課程已達到 cross-curriculum knowledge, build analytical and problem-solving skills, and inspire
However, instead of focusing merely on training a small group of elite
通中學教育文憑考試(IGCSE)的數學、物理、化學 students, our school puts more emphasis on the ‘popularity’ and ‘sustainability’ of STEM
和生物課程,在中二及中三級的數學和科學校本課 education and the curriculum planning is the top job.
The junior form curriculum achieves a balance between Chinese Language, English
Language, Mathematics and Humanities and Science. The Mathematics and Science
學校更鼓勵同學在中三或中四級參加英國 school-based curriculum in S.2 and S.3, with reference to the Mathematics, Physics,
Chemistry and Biology curriculum of IGCSE, has a school-based enrichment component
學校又安排學生以英語學習STEM科 to ensure that students can have comprehensive coverage in STEM training. Students
目,鑑於相關學科知識日新月異,良好的英語基礎 can then choose their favourite elective subjects to prepare themselves for HKDSE and
They are also encouraged to attend the IGCSE in S.3 or S.4 to review
their learning ability in Mathematics and Science, which is also beneficial to their overseas
                                                 studies.

The school also arranges students to study STEM subjects in English. Given the rapid
changes in relevant subject knowledge, a strong foundation in English is conducive to
students' understanding of the latest foreign materials. Learning STEM knowledge that is
geared to international standards can also make it easier for students to connect to higher-
                                                 level study.
