Year 9
Through the importance of
historical perspectives, Y9 Drama
classes explored what the depths
of characterization should be like
for plays like The Diary of Anne
Frank . As ensemble members,
students tried their hand at
writing their own unique and
stylistic, comedic melodramas.
In addition, they were reminded
through physical theatre and
pantomime techniques how non-
verbal communication and the
power of gesture is essential to
any great performance.
IGCSE
Shakespeare, Realism, Oliver
Twist and Henrik Ibsen were hot
topics of discussion this year in our
Y10 & Y11 IGCSE Drama classes.
Our students embarked upon the
journey of discovering the benefits
of modern and classical acting
methods; the importance of effective
ensemble collaboration when writing
original work and the creative
energies necessary to produce and
stage good drama pieces. From
monologue work to textual analysis
to play writing, each talented young
artist expanded his theatrical toolbox.
