Thoughts from the group
During the visit to Konkuk University, we enjoyed the cherry
blossoms and we learnt about the admission requirements
for international students. We found the sharing from
current Hong Kong students the most helpful because we
learnt more about the basic requirements of the application
process but moreover, we understood that it is not easy to
adapt to school life in Korea, for instance, making friends.
Our students practiced hosting a TV show in Korean
Broadcasting System television network.
In addition, we realised that studying in Korea would be far
more challenging than we expected, since it’s very hard to
study well because the subjects are taught in Korean. To
sum up, the visit has encouraged us to be well prepared
should we decide to study in Korea.
We also discovered that Korea has installed incinerators to
process the city’s waste which relieves the growing burden
on landfills. If the Hong Kong government were to setup
incinerators like this, our issues related to nearly saturated
landfills has the potential to be solved. Also, Korea has
rebuilt its landfill sites into golf courses, which allows
better land use for the general public. If this method was
implemented in Hong Kong, the areas of green zones and
public spaces would increase dramatically; undoubtedly
raising the quality of living for all Hong Kong people. After logging on with our wristbands, our faces showed
up on the entrance screen of the Experience Tour at
Samsung D’light.
