Our Champions—
the STCC Frisbee Team
This year, the STCC Frisbee Team was invited
by the Hong Kong Ultimate Players Association
(HKUPA) to participate in the Shanghai Frisbee Delicious food in
Youth Championship. I was truly grateful that our Shanghai. The famous
team completed it very smoothly and we won Xiao Long Bao!
the championship for the Growth Bracket Group.
On the first day, before the competition started,
warm-up trainings were arranged so that our
team could have their optimum performance in
the coming matches. By the end of the two-day
competition, our team began to trust themselves
and in the end, they won three consecutive
matches against Hangzhou International
School, British International School and
Canadian International School, resulting in the
championship of the intermediate challengers.
The matches on the second day started in the
early morning. After the yesterday’s training and Students said, “Shanghai Puxi looks like the Hong Kong Victoria Harbour”.
matches, the team was exhausted and some
were injured as well. However, the briefing and encouragement given by the teachers and coaches before
the match played a vital role in raising their morale—we gave
up all our worries to God. At the beginning of the games, the
competition was intense. Luckily, the girls were agile enough
to get one more mark. Finally, they exceeded the opponents
by two marks and won the competition! Their faces shone
with confidence and the parents and cheerleading teams
cheered and applauded loudly. It was totally unexpected
that our team would win the championship.
Our teammate’s trust in one another grew because
of this, and their confidence and determination also
showed through towards the end of the games. They truly
demonstrated the spirit and resilience of STCC.
We end this sharing with our showing my appreciation to
the strict training given by Coach, Ms. Apple, in Shanghai
and a special thank you to the parents of our team Captain,
Raymond Yeung, for traveling to Shanghai to show their
support and encouragement to the team.
