Miss Tsang Chui Yu
Hello, everyone! I am Miss Tsang. It is my first year in SFA. I
currently teach Mathematics, Science and Information Technology
in different levels. Compared to languages, I prefer mathematics.
Numbers are my friends and I always feel at ease when dealing
with them.
In recent years, I am obsessed with handicrafts, such as
Cross stitching. Cross stitching (also known as x-stitch) is a type
of counted embroidery that uses little crosses to create a tiled
pattern or design. It is considered to be the easiest form of hand
embroidery. Cross stitching was traditionally used for decorating
household items such as tablecloths and dishcloths. Nowadays, this
special type of handicraft serves as framed art and wall decoration.
This activity is beneficial to me in different ways. I can create
almost any patterns or themes as I like. It helps develop creativity
and self-discipline. Cross stitching requires me to concentrate fully
on the task in hand, thus clearing the mind of any worries or stress.
Some experts revealed that the repetitive actions in stitching create
a relaxed state of mind. It enables my brain to take a rest properly
after a busy and stressful day!
Moreover, I could obtain a great sense of accomplishment
and satisfaction when I create something from scratch. It can also
improve eye-hand coordination and keep my hands and fingers
flexible.
Therefore, as for me, cross stitching is more than just a piece
of art.
I am glad to have discovered the most suitable way to relieve
my pressure and regain the sense of peace. Have you found
yours? It is equally important for you, my dear students, to strike a
balance between study and life. I hope that you always keep trying
something new and develop your own interests. I would be glad
that if you can come and share your interests with me! Stay healthy
and all the best!
