History
It was another delightful year for History in 2018-19.
Although we were sad to see Miss Lo leave at
the end of last year, this year we welcomed Ms
McGoldrick in to teach Year 8 and 9 History.
Many of the traditions of previous years continued
in 2018-19 - the History Bowl in March as well as
the Public Records Office trip for Y12. Sadly, this
will also be our current Year 12s last entry into
the History Bowl competition as they will be busy
with their IB public examinations next year.
History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.

In History, we learned about the causes, effects and the
course of World War One. We studied the events and
the progression of the war. Finally, we learned about the
consequences the war left behind. We also learned about
the rise of Hitler. We learned about the fall of the Weimar
Republic after the First World War and how Hitler took
advantage of this to rise to power.
