Recycling Project

This Discovery Week the school organised
an in-school programme looking into how we
could reduce, reuse and recycle materials we
use around the school. Students first conducted
a survey by walking along all the rooms that
the secondary section used. Students then
looked into how implementations could be
put into place so the school community could
develop better habits of reducing the use of
paper and plastic and recycling the paper and
plastics already used. Students made paper-
recycling boxes from recyclable waste for all
our classrooms. More bins were put on the
secondary section floors to collect plastic drink
bottles and informative posters were made from
waste to educate the school community on the
negative effects of using single use plastics.
Students were engaged and realised that their
understanding had broadened regarding how
we use materials and how it affects the planet.
