                       Going To The Wet Market

                                                      2D Eva Wong Hoi Wai

Two weeks ago, I went to the market with my mother to buy some food for our
dinner. It was the first time I had been to the market. The market is in Tai Wai, where
I live. It is a government market. My mother visits this market all the time.
In the market, I saw many people buying and selling
food. The market was crowded with people and most of
them were housewives. The hawkers were shouting loudly
in order to draw the attention of the customers. I saw some
customers arguing or bargaining with the hawkers.
In the market, the vegetables and fish attracted me
most. They were very fresh and cheaper than those sold in
supermarkets. We bought choi sum and its price had gone
up a great deal, all because of the cold current in March.
A lot of fields in China were seriously damaged. It costs
twenty five dollars a catty. Eating vegetables can keep me fit
and the fish looked fresh so I bought them for dinner. I also
bargained with the hawkers like other housewives did.
In the end, I spent about 45 minutes in the market. I
think a market is an interesting place because I can see
different kinds of people in such a tiny wet place.
