Charity Event – SPCA

3C Krystal Li Chi Fun

Last week I joined a charity event by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals (Hong Kong). You may have heard about it in its short form, which is the
SPCA. I joined this event held by the SPCA because my friend Yuki saw the event
on a poster, and she invited me to go along with her.
The event was a fun fair for the

charity. It was held on 9 October 2015,
which was a school holiday. It was held at
New Town Plaza at Shatin. There were a
lot of activities at the fun fair and a charity
sale. There were also a lot of snacks and games to play too. I was a volunteer and
I really had a lot of fun there. Many products were sold, and the most popular ones
were the mobile phone straps, T-shirts and key chains. There were a lot of different
patterns to choose from, such as cats, dogs, dolphins and pandas. These were
the most popular ones. They also hold regular charity sales in smaller booths on
Mondays and Wednesdays; you may have seen them in the MTR stations.
There was also a surprise for everyone at the event because they had even
invited Joey Yung to sing. She is a really kind singer and she took some photos
with us! All the money we collected at the fun fair will be used to make a better
environment for all the abandoned animals.
Yuki and I worked in the snacks section
of the fun fair. Yuki loves cooking, especially
desserts. She is really good at cooking
because she enjoys it so much. She made
me a delicious cake for my birthday last year.
I can’t forget the great taste of the cake she
baked. I have known her for almost eight
years. She had a brilliant idea. She decided
to bake some cookies and cupcakes for the fun fair. She has a lot of experience
baking these desserts.
