Orchestra

Performance in the Sports Day!
The W F Joseph Lee Primary School Orchestra was founded in
2005 (formerly Windband). There are now over 50 members in the We receive the Silver Award in the
Orchestra. They play a wide range of instruments, including the violin, Joint School Music Competition 2019.
flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, French horn, euphonium,
tuba and percussions. The goal of the Orchestra is to provide high-
quality and all-rounded music training to our students. Through
regular practice and participating in various performances (e.g. Elderly
Community Centre performance, HK Disneyland performance) and
competitions, the Orchestra develops students’ potential in music and
raise their music accomplishment. We got the Silver Award in Joint
School Music Competition 2019. We perform at the “GO competition”

year. The Orchestra had the opportunity to go on a Taiwan learning
excursion. This learning excursion allowed students to gain a lot,
especially when they visited the disabled centre. They could understand
how disabled people learn music. Moreover, it was a good experience
to establish team spirit between the teams. Everyone enjoyed a lot!

We learn a lot from the
disabled people! Six years passed in a blink of an eye. I have learnt a lot and got a lot of
opportunities to explore about music. I am glad that I can show my talents in
WFJLPS.
I am now the concert master of my school orchestra. I found that being a concert master
is tough and stressful because I am the leader so I need to do really well. On the other hand, I
am happy that I can become the concert master because teachers are expecting me to do well.
With the hope of the teachers, I can learn more!
We are learning how to In the orchestra, I needed to teach freshmen to sight-read and play the music correctly. I
make Taiwan traditional also needed to help teachers arrange the seats of the members. This is very important because
“Pineapple shortcake”. this will affect the quality of the music. In some orchestra competitions, I needed to help tune the
instruments for others. I was very nervous because if I did something wrong during the tuning
session, the school reputation might be ruined. Although it was hard to be a concert master, I
got more and more experienced. I hope I can do well in the orchestra in my secondary school!
In addition, I also got awards in my violin solo competition. I got the champion in the

Inter-school International Performance Challenge in 2018. I also got the 1 Runner-up and

the champion in The 21 St. Cecilia International Music Competition a few months ago. I will
