GO Chess Team

GO chess came from China and spread out to
other Asian countries, such as Japan and Korea, in the

7 century. GO chess consists of only white and black
stones. GO chess players aim at gaining as much ‘land’ Our student wins this round.
as possible by surrounding their opponent’s pieces, or
protecting squares on the board. When the board is filled,
the game then ends. The player who gets more ‘land’ will
be the winner.
Our school GO Chess Team has been developed for
many years. Our team consists of 40 members and they
attend training every week. This year, they joined a lot of
competitions to gain experience and learn from others.
They all showed a great improvement in logical thinking.

I have been playing GO chess for 4 years already. After I joined
the GO Chess Team, I felt very grateful as my teachers told us many
things that we did not know before, such as news about the GO
chess competition and the special skills that can help us defeat the
opponents in competition. After attending the school team training,
we have got a lot of improvement in skills and ranking. Our school
has also got a good result in the Yuen Long Joint School GO Chess
Competition. Luckily, I did not forget the skills that the teacher told
us in training, I was calm and concentrated in planning how to defeat
rd
my opponents. At the end, I got the 3 Runner-up in the competition.
Lastly, I would like to thank my GO chess teacher because he always
told me a lot of new things that was about GO.
