                  S.4 English Study Trip

                        to Cheung Chau

All S4 students went to Cheung Chau for a study trip in
March. Our S4 students had a positive attitude and they
participated actively in the trip. Taking part in different
activities like interviewing foreign tourists and exploring
the pirate’s hideout enabled them to boost their confidence
          and sharpen their communication skills.

Last week, we went to Cheung Po Tsai Cave
on the island of Cheung Chau. The Cheung Po
Tsai Cave is actually a very narrow, dark, and
winding passage through huge rocks. There’s
nothing inside the cave, but my classmates
were really enthusiastic about exploring the
mysterious cave. They voluntarily lit up the
passage for all the visitors along the way so
that we all could go deep into the cave.

After the visit to Cheung Po Tsai, we went
to try the local food there. There are many
famous and popular local foods that are
worth trying in Cheung Chau. To name
a few, the Cheung Chau jumbo fish ball,
gluttonous rice dumpling and all kinds of
seafood. We ordered eight dishes and the There are many bicycles parked by the

to be very healthy and environmentally

Apart from all the great fun I had, I even got a chance to practice my
communication skills. After the meal, we went to interview some foreign
tourists as was required by our teacher.
As a Chinese, I can speak my native
language fluently, but my English is
pretty limited. As a result, I had to rely
on my team members to ask interview
          questions. However, when we were
interviewing a young lady, the lady
took the initiative to talk to me and
encouraged me to ask her questions in
English as she saw me standing aside
without uttering a word. Inspired by her,
I finally got up the courage to speak in The local people usually make a living
