The Creative Collection of the Budding Writers

As the music performances in Clockenflap
were mostly bands, they tend to play rock music
using their guitar, bass and drums, amplified
through loudspeakers. The noise was too loud
even at night, which made many a resident
feel harassed. While it was enjoyable for the
audience, it was not at all entertaining to people
like myself living nearby. Moreover, the crowds
tend to get rowdy when they wanted to show appreciation to the performers. Yet it
was a really serious harassment that made me unable to concentrate on my work.
Apart from the above, the large crowds caused inconvenience to the residents.
As most attendees drove their private vehicles to the venue, other than causing
traffic congestion in the evenings, it also took up a lot of parking space at the nearby
malls and roads. The increased traffic also created trouble for other road users.
To conclude, while the large-scale entertainment activities are good for the
whole city and interested citizens, it can cause problems for residents near the
event venues. These problems have to be solved if the government wants to
organize similar events in the future. I am looking forward to better coordination by
the government and I hope that these events can indeed bring benefits to Hong
          Kong.
                                              Yours faithfully,
                                              Chris Wong
