Helen Liang’s Got Talent

Helen Liang’s Got Talent is a show that invite students who got talents to
show people how good they are. The purpose of this show is to provide a stage
for students to let teachers and students know
what talents they have got and how much effort
they have put into something they love to do. The
Principal wants to encourage students to develop
their talents, instead of competing to find out who is
better.
The show was held in the school hall last
Friday. It started at the lesson right after lunch. Only
S.1 – S.3 students were the audience because the
hall was not big enough. There were 12 performers
in the show and group sizes ranged from 3 to 40
students. Most of the groups were singing and dancing in their performances, but
my group did not want to be the same. Therefore, we tried to do something that
could catch the audience’s attention.
We performed a Magic and Basketball Tricks
Show. I really loved to play basketball and had
learned a few tricks before. Therefore, I thought
I could do some high level basketball tricks in
the show. In addition, I had two partners in my
group, Sky and Boris. They are very good at doing
magic tricks because they have learned them
for two years. We thought we could give a great
performance easily for sure so we did not have
much preparation. We only practised for half an
hour on Friday after school one week before the
talent show.
