Blog Entry: The First Day In Taipei

My family and I came to Taipei. We
are having a five-day trip here, and today
is our first day. We are staying in a hotel in
Ximending. This hotel has its own restaurant.
My dad said we should try it once before we
leave. The weather here is good and very
sunny! We went to many places today!
We arrived in Taipei in the morning. The
airport in Taipei is huge. Some people said
that the Taiwanese are very polite and helpful, and now I have first-hand experience.
They are very willing to answer our questions.
We went to Taipei 101 and Shifen today. Taipei 101 is a building that is formerly
known as the Taipei World Financial Centre. The construction started in 1999 and
finished in 2004. We went sightseeing there. The view there is really fantastic. We
enjoyed it very much. In Taipei 101, there is a shop for us to buy souvenirs. I spent
a lot of time choosing the souvenirs for my friends. I hope they like them!
Then we went to the Shifen Old Street
section of Pingxi. We went there by train. We
tried some local food there. All of them were very
cheap! After having lunch, we went to see the
Shifen Waterfall. This was the first time I visited a
waterfall. It is gigantic and breathtaking. We took
a lot of photos there and we got wet too! At night,
we bought a Sky Lantern. We wrote down our
hopes for the future on the lantern and released it
into the sky. I hope my dreams will come true!
Finally, we went back to the hotel and had dinner in Ximending. I love the food
here very much, especially the milk tea! I enjoyed it very much!!!
